Locked Out!

So...I was hanging out with my buddy Adam.  We had planned to watch a movie and, as always, have some humorous and extremely sarcastic conversations between ourselves and my roommates.  The only thing that we neglected to plan was eating food--my bad!  Any-whose-its, we decided to go try the grille at the creamery since neither one of us had tried their grill (just the ice cream of course!).  I put shoes on, left my phone and keys, told my roommates not to lock the door and left.  We had an enjoyable time eating fries and grilled ham-and-cheese sandwiches from the grille (much better than I was expecting).  We headed back to my apartment and upon walking to the door I noticed all of the lights off and the doors closed. Uh-oh!  I completely forgot that my roommates were all going somewhere at 7:00pm.
They had locked the door on me and all our evening plans were locked inside the apartment.  Well that was just dandy.  Adam said he could try getting in if I had a bobby pin and pen cap I didn't want.  I didn't but I then ran to Catie's apartment screaming "Catie!! Catie!!"  Luckily she had not gone to dinner with her roommates and provided us Adams required tools.  We ran back to my apartment and Adam first climbed onto the balcony to see if he could just push-in and slide the door over.  No can do--that sucker was staying put.  He said, during the process, "I wonder if this looks weird to anyone."
"Probably, but I am standing right here, so it's ok!"  Yeah, genius response.  Adam then tried getting into the apartment through the front door via the bobby pin and pen cap.  No way was that happening!  Thankfully my front door stayed firmly in place without budging a millimeter.  Phew!  Good to know that I am safe.  I then decided that we should go bum at Beau's apartment.  Needless to stay the situation was amusing to anyone and everyone.  A girl is always bound to lock herself out of her own apartment eventually right?  Good thing I got it over with quickly.  Haha.  At Beau's we ended up watching a bunch of youtube (yeah!) videos while trying to figure out what to do next.  "You could get a key from the office!" ...."Yeah, it's after six.  They closed man!" ..."Oh yeah..."
Brilliant!  We were indeed! I just waited until about eight'o'clock and ran back over.  Luckily I knew at least one of my roommates would be home by then.  I retrieved my phone, keys and our movie and we then ran to the rec room and watched Pirates of the Caribbean.  Woot!!  One adventurous night for us!  But hey, I have to make things interesting every once in a while, right? Right!  The best part was, Adam fell asleep randomly throughout the movie and we commandeered people into watching it with us when they came into the rec room! Yeah baby! ;)

The Pills

So, at work yesterday I was down in the check-in room I was working away checking in all of the books that came in.  I noticed there was this car that kept going around the parking lot and stopping in front of the drop.  It finally came around a third time and this cute little old lady got out of the car, hobbled over to the window and...dropped this huge bag of pills down the drop! I quickly grabbed the bag and ran out the doors and to her car.  She opened the door, and I said "That's the library book drop."
And she turned to me and said, "Oh, I know.  But I can't figure out where the police station is."
"It's in this huge building right there."
"Oh, well I supposed I can figure out where that drop box is."
I then found out that the city was collecting pills and drugs that were expired or not used so that  they could properly dispose of them.  The old lady showed me an article in the city sources newsletter explaining where to take the pills.  I told her not to worry about it and I would run them over to the police station for her.  Then she thanked me and drove off...slowly...almost like a snail.  A few hours later, I finally had the opportunity to read that specific article in the newsletter, grab the pills and run them over to the designated drop off location.  When I told the officer and nurses collecting all the drugs the story, they laughed.  It is pretty entertaining. I love old people!  They are the coolest.

In the rain! It was a small intimate adventure.
I was finished with my
classes, walking to my car and absolutely loving the wind running through my hair! It then commenced to lightly rain....which slowly turned into a storm that drenched any persons walking outside.

Not only was the experience fun, I walked slower and enjoyed the rain and the feeling! I was quickly soaked through to the skin as I walked to my car (during which I remembered that I should probably ensure that my phone was not ruined). It made my day! However, there are two things (okyday, maybe three) that could have made it perfection.
One: A highly attractive man waiting for me at my car.
Two: An awesome kiss from the above character.
(Three: Snuggling into a blanket with hot chocolate, not having to go to work and getting a torrential snow storm and enjoying every moment of it). And if you are wondering, no I have never watched or read The Notebook and I really have no desire or intention to since real life is so much better!

The Little Clerk

When I came into work today, the first thing that I did was retrieve the book drop in the hall. Next thing I know there is the cutest little boy ever! pulling on my shirt and asking "How does the book drop work?" I finished checking the books in the drop and then proceeded to show and tell him how to close the big grey book drop. He was completely fascinated with it!
I then handed him the keys and we walked to the little blue book drop and I instructed him on how to open the box, pull out the cart, check the items and push it back in and lock it up. He gave me the cutest and biggest smile, handed me the keys, said thanks and then ran back to the check-out counter to tell his Mom what he did. It was pretty much awesome! Not only was he a very cute little boy but he was the politest little thing ever! Absolutely loved it! =)

Work Adventure!

So...the other day at work, a co-worker and I were cleaning up and came across some question-ables in a Styrofoam bowl. It was some bizarre light green looking stuff with little dark spots.
"What do you think it is? Looks weird!" said I.
"I have no idea," stated my co-worker.
"Hmm....I think that I am going to try some!"
I then reached into the bowl and picked up a small piece and tossed it into the gaping hole in my head, some people call it a mouth. Anywho, it tasted rather familiar and, seeing as how it was left over from the boys only program earlier that day, I thought it was either edible chalk or Styrofoam. Then we spotted one of our fellow co-workers dashing across the floor.
"Hey! What is the stuff in this bowl?" we inquired.
"Oh! It's freeze dried ice-cream! We were talking about how in space (since Star Wars was the theme of the boys program) you can't have liquids with you. So I gave the boys some freeze dried ice-cream while they watched that clip from Apollo 13 with the astronaut sending pee-pee out the window making a little pee-pee trail in space," she replied as she ran in and sauntered out.
"Does it happen to be mint chocolate chip?!?"
